ECHA releases the shortlist of substances of potential concern in early January and Member States have until mid-Februuary to select substances for manual screening. The manual screening can take from a few days to several weeks, depending on the complexity of the case. The deadline for screening is end May but for larger and more complex groups, there is some flexibility. However, if MSCAs wish to place the substance on the draft CoRAP list for next year, it is important that the deadline of end May is respected.
