The aim of the letter campaign for shortlisted substances is to inform registrants about the shortlisting and to invite them to review the related registration dossiers and consider to update them in particular for information on uses and tonnage per use and possibly on the potential hazard properties, as indicated in the letters, before the manual screening starts. However, if the registrants are confident that the information in the dossiers is up-to-date, then no action is needed. Registrants can also attach a clarification document/peer reviewed papers in an updated dossier if they wish so.
