Yes. When a registered substance has been incorrectly identified, it is not technically possible for a registrant to change the substance identifier (EC/List number and/or chemical name) by submitting a spontaneous dossier update. Instead, the registrant should request a substance identity adaptation service by ECHA via a dedicated webform. When the substance identity adaptation concerns a joint submission, the request is usually submitted by the lead registrant on behalf of all co-registrants and must include documentary evidence confirming that all the co-registrants agree with the requested change. The request can also be submitted by a single registrant when the change of substance identifier is for a single registration. When the request allows the execution of the service, ECHA issues a charge of € 600 for each registrant requiring the correction of a substance identifier. Following the change of the substance identifier, the registrant’s rights to manufacture and import are not affected.
