Answer (EN)
If an official advisory body exists in the Member State where the substance or mixture is placed on the market, its telephone number must be given and can suffice. This official advisory body may be the body responsible for receiving information relating to health referred to in Article 45 of CLP. An additional number can however be given. This additional number may be from outside the EU. If there is no official advisory body, there is no specific requirement that the telephone number provided in section 1.4 of the SDS must be an EU number. However, as described in the Guidance on safety datasheet, it is important to the reader of the SDS that the time-zones for the office hours are indicated. This is the case in particular when the offices are located in a country with a different time zone from the Member State where the product is being placed on the market, and especially if they are located outside the EU. Appropriate international dialling codes should also be indicated as part of telephone numbers outside the country of supply of the substance or mixture referred to. The services should be able to address requests in the official languages of the Member States for which the SDS is intended.Certain Member States have provided links to the telephone numbers of appropriate national emergency information services to be included in subsection 1.4 of the SDS. They can be found at this link.
