After an inquiry submitted under REACH Articles 26 (inquiry for a substance before its registration) or 12(2) (inquiry for a tonnage band increase), the previous registrant (be it the lead or a member) may, pursuant to Article 27(8), ask ECHA to extend the registration waiting period by an additional four months.
