I have stopped production/import of the article containing the Candidate List substance. Do I have to notify and communicate information down the supply chain and to consumers upon request?

If the production/import ended before the substance was included in the Candidate List or before the notification obligation starts to apply (i.e. 6 months after a substance has been included in the Candidate List or 1 June 2011 for substances placed on the Candidate List before 1 December 2010) then you do not have to notify. Please note, however, that for the information requirements specified in Article 33 of the REACH Regulation, the date of supply of the article is the relevant date, i.e. these obligations also apply to producers and importers at the moment when they supply articles which were produced or imported before the substance was included in the Candidate List and are supplied after the inclusion.
